After a long and frightening hiatus, I have returned to life and the Internet.
I apologize to everyone for departing the Web and the larger social grid with such vehemence and speed; to make a long and strange story brief and simple, I’m one of those people who tends to burn out from time to time. I needed to recharge.
So, at the moment, I’m in Ishikawa, Okinawa (Japan, yo), recharging, writing, designing, and paying no attention whatsoever to the state of new media. If I never start another social profile as long as I live, it’ll be too soon.
More to come shortly, including humorous music and film critiques, typography rants, and maybe-just-maybe a few videos. I’m also reinstating some old posts from last summer and spring. I hope you enjoy the memories.
And a very special thanks to all my online and real-life friends who emailed, called, tweeted, txted, Facebook-poked, and knocked on my door during the period of radio silence. I love you all and appreciate your support and concern. And once again, I’m sorry for disappearing!

Yay! So glad you are back. We all missed your wit and your smile and your laugh and your intellect and your writing and the light that shines every time you walk into a room.

Ah, Steve! =)
Thanks for stickin’ with me. I’ll do my best to merit the true consideration and friendship you’ve shown me.
But first things first, Adrants back on the blogroll!

It’s good to take a break sometimes. No apology necessary
Kudos for recharging.

Thanks so much. =) I never thought I’d say this, but it’s really nice to be back online.

Jolie,
You are one whacked-out chick for pulling the vanishing act. And I’m not sure I’ll forgive you as easily as Steve and Christian for making us all worry.
But I’m glad you’re back.

I know, it’s horrible of me. But I really had a good excuse… email me. =)

Glad to see you alive and well. I often suspect our lives may be better without being so completely in digital touch and frequently take breaks.

Hi Stephen!
Yes, I completely agree with you. Hence, infrequent blogging, NO Twitter, no Facebook, and very limited everything else, including email.
I am so easily enthused by new technology that I tend to go overboard, and unplugging is the best thing in the world.

…but I still sleep with my laptop.
